Our dealership takes your privacy seriously and is committed to safeguarding your privacy online. Our dealership understands the importance of your privacy. We collect and maintain the personal information of our consumers for our use and our subsidiaries. We do not sell, rent, or trade consumer information to third parties, other than as described below, and never without your consent.

How long is my personal information retained?

MINI Victoria will retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected and to comply with applicable laws. Once your information is no longer required, we will securely dispose of it in accordance with the following practices:

• Retention periods by category: Customer transaction records and vehicle purchase/lease files are retained for a minimum of seven (7) years to meet tax and regulatory obligations. Marketing and communication preferences are retained for the duration of your active relationship with us, plus two (2) years. Web analytics and non-personally identifiable data are retained for no more than twenty-six (26) months.
• Secure disposal: When personal information is no longer required, we will securely delete or anonymize it. Digital records are permanently deleted from our systems and backups using industry-standard secure erasure methods. Physical records containing personal information are shredded or otherwise rendered unreadable before disposal.
• Requesting deletion: You may request that we delete your personal information at any time. We will honor such requests subject to any legal or contractual obligations that require us to retain certain records. Do you share information with others?

Like other companies, we share information with our affiliated companies, third-party service providers, BMW/MINI retailer networks, BMW/MINI Group Canada, and certain business partners (list available upon request) in order to conduct our business activities and to protect our rights. For example we share information with these other entities for the purposes of:

1. Delivery of Products and Services

• Delivering products and services to you on our behalf, including warranty services and roadside assist services.
• Arranging for a purchase or lease quote or a test-drive.
• Assisting us with servicing and processing your credit account and verifying credit worthiness.

2. Customer Relations

• Administering our marketing promotions, including contests and email campaigns.
• Managing our interest-based advertising and website personalization programs.
• Evaluating the effectiveness of our products and services.

3. Protecting Our Business and Fulfilling Our Legal Obligations

• Detecting and preventing fraud.
• Enforcing contractual or other legal obligations.
• Locating and repossessing a leased or financed vehicle exported from Canada in violation of agreements.
• Responding to court orders, warrants and subpoenas or lawful requests for information by government institutions, including the police.
• Filing reports with government institutions where we are required by law to do so or we have grounds to suspect a breach of a law.
• Obtaining legal advice for BMW/MINI Group Canada, its affiliated companies or BMW/MINI Retailers.

We contractually require any third party organization to use and protect the personal information disclosed to them in a manner consistent with our Privacy Policy.

We may sell or purchase assets. If another entity acquires us or all or a portion of our assets, personal information that we collected from you may be shared with that entity. The information will be shared for the purpose of that entity considering whether to enter into the transaction and also to complete the transaction.

Our websites may include links to other websites outside of BMW/MINI Group Canada. We are not responsible for the content, links or privacy practices of those websites. We provide access to these linked sites for your convenience only and you access them at your own risk. However, we welcome any comments you may have regarding these linked websites.

BUSINESS PARTNERS

Our dealership may partner with select retailers and other companies at various times to provide expanded services to our site visitors. As part of such a relationship, we may share with these companies the use of certain interactive Web site functions (i.e. the E-Mail Reminder Service). Information provided by site visitors through the use of such interactive functions may be available to both our dealership and our partners.

AGENTS

Our dealership may use other companies and individuals to perform certain functions on our behalf. Examples include administering e-mail services and running special promotions.
